Before you sign

Ask for these answers in writing.

  • Who holds the payer contract: you, the network, or the biller.
  • Who submits claims and who answers records requests and denials.
  • Which plans and which provider identities the arrangement covers, in writing.
  • How you get your records back if the arrangement ends.
  • Every fee, including percentages, optional charges and per-claim fees.

Which fits your practice

For payer access, compare participating networks and credentialing services. For outsourced billing, ask for a written scope and quote. If your team handles claims, compare software by the tasks it supports.

Questions

Is NuBloom a billing service?
No. NuBloom is practice software. Your team prepares each claim from a finalized superbill, the rendering provider approves it clinically, and an owner, admin or billing team member approves and sends that version. NuBloom does not hold payer contracts, credential providers or work denials for you.
How is credentialing different from electronic billing enrollment?
Credentialing is the insurer’s review of your qualifications. Contracting establishes your participation in a specific network and its payment terms. Apply directly or use a credentialing service for that work. Electronic billing enrollment connects your claims and reports to a payer through a clearinghouse. NuBloom requests that electronic setup through Stedi and tracks payer tasks; it does not apply for or negotiate network contracts.
Can a credentialing service help a solo IBCLC or group practice?
A credentialing service can help gather documents, prepare provider profiles, submit payer applications and follow up. Confirm whether the payer accepts each clinician’s provider type and is taking applications for your state and network. Ask whether the resulting contract belongs to your practice or another organization, and whether billing services are required. A group contract alone does not establish every clinician’s participation.
Can I use NuBloom with TLN?
TLN says you can use your current charting platform if the documentation you submit contains all SOAP or SBAR elements. Using NuBloom for your own record does not create an automated connection to TLN. Ask TLN how it wants documentation delivered.
Does a clearinghouse replace a biller?
No. A clearinghouse connects claims, eligibility requests and remittances to payers and may help with electronic setup. Your team or a billing service still prepares correct claims, completes required payer tasks, fixes rejections and follows up on denials. Credentialing and network contracts require a separate process.
Which option costs less?
The prices pay for different work, so a monthly fee and a percentage of payments do not compare directly. Ask each service for a written scope and quote, then compare what your practice would still do itself.
Where can I see how NuBloom claims work?
The insurance page walks through preparing, approving and sending a claim, and the follow-up afterward, using labeled sample data.
